The lesson I didn’t expect from a 5-minute walk
On Saturday morning, I woke up tired.
I’d stayed up later than usual on Friday night, and the last thing I felt like doing was going for my usual walk.
But after two weeks of rain, the sun had finally come out.
So I told myself: “Just 5 minutes. I’ll pop out, stretch my legs, then come back.”
Once I put on my walking shoes and stepped outside, something shifted.
5 minutes turned into 30. And by the time I got home, I felt refreshed, not tired.
It reminded me of something powerful:
• You don’t need motivation to start.
• You just need one small step.
That first small step creates momentum.
The same applies to money. I see it with clients all the time — once they take one small step, everything else feels easier.
- Not ready to create a spending plan? Just review last month’s expenses.
- Don’t want to overhaul everything? Cancel one subscription you don’t use.
- Not ready to invest big? Start small — even a little can build the habit.
One action is all it takes to shift your momentum.
So let me leave you with this:
What’s one small step you could take this week — with your money, your health, or your goals — that your future self will thank you for?
