Time, Money, and Health — The Impossible Trio
Did you ever notice this?
When we’re young, we have time and health — but not much money.
When we’re older, we have money and time — but less health.
And in the middle, when we finally have both health and income…
we often have no time.
It’s a familiar and frustrating paradox.
I first came across this idea in Die With Zero, and it stuck with me.
We work hard, save diligently, and plan for “later.”
But the truth is… there is no perfect later where time, money, and health align.
If we wait for it, life slips quietly by.
That’s why financial planning shouldn’t just grow wealth.
It should give us permission to live — while we can still enjoy what matters most.
Because money only becomes valuable when it’s converted into meaningful experiences,
not just numbers on a statement.
