Using the cultural skill of wire bending for carnival costume construction in Trinidad and Tobago, we crafted a backpack and frame as the base of this costume with galvanized wire. The wire is both lightweight and sturdy, making it easy to manipulate and attach materials. I covered the wire frame with brown fabric for the body and used various party supplies to achieve a homemade appearance.
