This page outlines the ethical standards I follow and teach — so that AI becomes a
tool for clarity, support, and insight, not a shortcut that replaces our craft.

Ethical AI For Writers

As an author and creator myself, based on my experiences and interactions with AI,
my services are in alignment with the following non-negotiable guidelines:

  • You remain the creator.

  • Your ideas and lived experiences are the foundation.

  • Your voice leads the writing process.

  • AI assists — it never authors your story.

  • Your work stays authentic, original, unmistakably yours.

Privacy & Intellectual Protections

When you work with me, your stories, ideas, and private writing stay in your control.
I do not save, store, or share your material without your clear permission, and I will

never upload your work into any AI system without your knowledge.

I prefer working with ChatGPT because:

  • It does not train on your private conversations.

  • It does not reuse your writing with other users.

  • It does not own your ideas, stories, or creative work.

If you choose to utilize my AI services, we'll use AI safely and responsibly:

  • We work with summaries and structural insights — never full manuscript uploads.

  • Your writing stays private and protected.

  • You decide what goes into AI and what stays entirely human.

  • I’ll teach you how to configure and use AI tools in ways that safeguard your voice and your intellectual property.

The Puppy Store Paradigm

From my perspective, asking AI to “Write a cute story about a puppy exploring a farm” is not an act of

authentic writing. It’s simply generating a story based on AI’s ability to sift through massive

amounts of data, recognize patterns, and stitch together something that resembles a narrative.

There’s nothing “wrong” with this, and it isn’t my place to judge whether someone should or shouldn’t

use AI this way. But it is a very different process from writing — and it’s not one I believe serves

authentic creatives or aspiring authors who want their stories to come from their own imagination.

My approach — and the one I teach, is organic:

If you tell AI, “I’m writing a story about a puppy exploring a farm —

help me develop the farm setting,” that’s a creative partnership.

Instead of spending hours (or days) researching farm structures, animal behavior,

seasonal details, or environmental descriptions, AI can summarize that information

in seconds. You then take those details and craft them into your storyline using

your imagination, your voice, and your creative intention.

Here’s something important to consider:

You can ask AI to write a full story — and even publish it — without committing an ethical violation.
But originality is not the same thing as authorship.
And creativity is not the same thing as generation.

Authentic writing begins with you — your vision, your purpose, your imagination.
AI can support that creativity, but it cannot replace it.

My Ethical Standards

These are the principles I uphold in my own writing — and the standards I bring to every coaching relationship.

I will never:

  • allow AI to invent my stories or replace my imagination

  • use AI to generate content and present it as original creativity

  • let AI dilute my voice or overshadow my intent

  • compromise authenticity for convenience

  • expose my clients’ work without their consent

I will always:

  • use AI only as a supportive tool — never a substitute for creativity

  • keep human imagination and authorship at the center of the process

  • maintain full transparency in how AI is used

  • protect creative ownership, both mine and my clients’

  • ensure the final work reflects the writer’s voice, not a model’s output
